Peugeot Part Information

Peugeot's involvement in the auto industry has been evident for a long time. The car as we know it (with the internal combustion engine) was created in 1879 and Peugeot have been making cars since 1889. Peugeot have predominantly been a mass producer of hatchbacks and small family cars, along with a small range of vans.

Peugeot Timeline:

1810 - The Peugeot family buy a factory in steel (unrelated to cars).

1850 - The famous Peugeot lion logo is pressed onto the steel sheets as a simple of strength of the metal.

1889 - Armand Peugeot shows off his first steam powered car at the Paris motor show.

1891 - Peugeot makes its first petrol powered car and is the first car manufacturer to run a car on rubber tyres.

1925 - The 100 000 mark is reached in terms of production.

1934 - A showcase is made in the fact that they have created the first electrically retractable roof on a car.

1955 - The Peugeot 403 becomes the first production car in the world to exceed 1 million units.
