Toyota Part Information

Toyota are a multinational motor corporation, founded in 1937 by Kiichiro Toyoda, their headquarters are based in Japan. Toyota also own Lexus and have an interest in Daihatsu.
The family name (Toyoda) was used to name the company, however it was changed to signify the separation of Toyoda Automatic Loom Works (Primarily making textiles) and the motor company, therefore it was named Toyota.
The manufacturing of commercial cars began after the second world war, as during the war Toyota were involved in making vehicles for the Japanese army. The first widely available car produced was the Toyota Toyopet Crown (1957).

By the end of the 60's Toyota had a firm grip on the industry, this would propel them towards being the largest and most successful car company in the world.
More recently Toyota have been keen to expand into hybrid technology. Cars like the Toyota Prius are among the most fuel efficient cars in the world, the Lexus Hybrid Drive is also widely produced.

Toyota Company - Wales to receive £88 million cash injection

Toyota announced that it will invest £88 million into a North Wales plant to produce a small petrol engine - securing jobs for 700 workers. The Japanese car company will expect to get a new 1.3litre engine out of the deal - which is going into the Deeside plant. Full Toyota Company Story
