Daihatsu Charade GTti Car Review

Daihatsu Charade GTti

2008-05-27 11:20:31 - The Charade is a supermini manufactured between 1977 and 2000, with the GTti coming into play during 1987 and stopping production in 1994. You may think the 1.0L 3-Cylinder engine is nothing exciting. Think Again. Turbo aspiration, 800kg curb weight, 100BHP and DOHC means one thing: the fastest 1 litre production car ever made.

In Japan the car was called the GT-XX, which is essentially a feature packed Gtti. It includes a sunroof, PAS, air-conditioning, alloys, side skirts and a different spoiler to the Gtti.

The Charade Gtti is still the fastest 1 litre production car made and was the first car to achieve 100BHP per litre. It has a 0-60mph time of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 115mph. Although modified versions have been known to do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds! You'll be able to surprise a few people at the lights, considering the car doesn't look too mean.
