Hyundai Coupe SIII Car Review

Hyundai Coupe SIII

2008-05-27 10:44:54 - The Hyundai Coupe SIII (also known as the Tiburon) has been produced by Hyundai since 1996. The latest offering brings a more aggressive looking car onto the road and with re-styled headlights and tail lights; the car has more of an aftermarket feel about it. Its £15.795 on the road, but it looks like a 20 grand car… It well and truly is a budget sport coupe

Compared to previous versions of the car the new Hyundai Tibby (nice nickname eh?) has an interior more luxurious and of a higher build quality than you'd expect for the money. With new seats, a brushed aluminium finish and a new dash set-up you'll enjoy the long motorway journeys in it.

The coupe has relatively unchanged engine setups, starting at the entry 103BHP 1.6L and finishing at the 162BHP 2.7L V6, with the 141BHP 2L fitting snugly in-between these two. Both the 2.0L and 2.7L models also come with the choice of an automatic gearbox.

Unfortunately the car doesn't drive as well as it looks like it should. Steering isn't sharp and acceleration times leave a lot to be desired. The entry model will take 12 seconds to reach 0-62mph… If you're after speed and want a coupe then take our advice and go for a decent second hand Supra.

The new Hyundai gives style and quality for a tremendous price, but unfortunately it can't match this with performance.
