Lotus Esprit V8 Car Review

Lotus Esprit V8

2008-05-27 10:44:55 - The esprit was first shown in 1972 at the Turin motor show and more recently the unique jagged Italian design appeared in the 90's with a V8 twin turbo engine, built in-house by Lotus, producing 355BHP. The styling is still firmly based on Peter Stevens overhaul in 1988, it will never look like the AMG's or the M series, but the performance is just as good..

In 1998 the V8 model was available in the SE and GT versions. Both cars were more than capable on the performance side of things, but the SE had a more luxurious interior. Later in 1999 the Sport 350 model was introduced to Europe offering improved handling and design tweaks.

The Lotus Esprit V8

You've probably noticed from the picture above that the driver of an Esprit doesn't exactly have optimum panoramic views, but who needs them when everything's a blur?! Onto the handling….its tough, the car needs to be tamed for sure! The Esprit V8 Sport 350 will do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds combined with a top speed of 170mph. To top it off only 350 were made, making them extremely desirable, but with starting prices at £25000 for a good used model it's a steal.
